ABOUT US:
Where the owners Rylee Mort and Whitney Estrada had a dream of bringing together traditional salon services and alternative natural services such as dreadlocks, henna and a variety of local artists' handmade goods and products. We wanted to create an environment where clients feel welcome and comfortable to express themselves in a way that reflects their true self.
We knew there was nothing done like this in the area and we started creating. With lots of research and trial and error we have created a brand and product that is in higher demand than we ever imagined. Dreadlock hairstyles have been brought mainstream by celebrities such as Kylie Jenner on the cover of Teen Vogue in 2015, Justin Bieber in 2016, and most recently Jennifer Lopez.
Being in the industry for over 10 years, we have felt the pressure of trying to fit into traditional beauty standards. We wanted to create a space where we took an open and alternative approach to the beauty industry where the beauty standard is simply where you feel free to create and choose your own beauty standard.
This is why we created our salon space as "Free Spirit Beauty Co BY Pretty Dreadful"
